FIGHT YOUR SPEEDING TICKET IN ALBERTA.
We've handled thousands of them — and our team includes the former officers who taught radar and lidar. When we examine the evidence against you, we know exactly what to look for.
THE FINE IS THE CHEAP PART.
When faced with a speeding ticket, many drivers simply pay the fine shown at the bottom, not realizing that this can be a costly mistake.
A speeding conviction goes on your driving record, and your insurer sees it at renewal. One conviction can raise your insurance premium for three years. On a typical Alberta policy, that costs more than the ticket did, sometimes several times more.
You have a limited window to dispute it, and it’s printed on your ticket. Once you pay, you’ve pleaded guilty and there’s no way of fighting the ticket. The consultation is free.

HOW THE TRAFFIC TICKET GURU HELPS.
1. Send us your ticket
A photo is enough. Free, and no obligation. You can submit it online through our website form.
2. We tell you where you stand
What the charge means, what it’ll do to your insurance, and whether it’s worth fighting. If it isn’t, we’ll say so.
3. We get the evidence — and test it
We examine the radar or lidar evidence the way the instructors who taught it would — device testing records, operating procedure, officer training, and beam targeting — because our team includes the former officers who taught these devices to police.
4. We handle it
In most cases you never see the inside of a courtroom. We appear on your behalf and keep you informed at every step.
5. Backed by our guarantee*
If we can’t improve the outcome of your ticket, we’ll pay the fine up to the value of our fee, or credit you toward a future one.
Speeding Tickets QUESTIONS.
Quick answers to the questions we hear most about speeding tickets
Send Us Your Ticket →Paying the ticket is pleading guilty, and the conviction sits on your abstract where insurers can see it for about three years. For a lot of drivers the premium increase costs more than the fine.
Two points up to 15 km/h over, three points from 16 to 30, four points from 31 to 50, and six points for more than 50 km/h over (or up to a 90 day license suspension). The points land on your record on your conviction date and stay for two years.
The deadline is printed on your ticket. Miss the due date and your options narrow sharply.
Yes, and photo radar tickets have their own set of issues. Photo radar tickets are also treated differently from officer-issued tickets by insurers, so bring yours to us and we’ll explain where you stand.
Your ticket will not list a fine, and you are required to appear in court, where a judge will determine the penalty. These cases are handled differently because they carry the potential for a licence suspension and, in some cases, vehicle seizure. They are also subject to much tighter timelines than standard tickets, so please contact us as soon as possible.
In most cases, no. We appear on your behalf. We’ll tell you upfront if your matter is one of the ones where your attendance is required.
Yes, and more than most people expect. Insurers base rate increase on the number of convictions, not demerits. One conviction can move you into a higher category at renewal, and this penalty can last up to three years, and multiple convictions can reduce how many insurers will insure you at all.
